Played haptic surfaces against visual shape

B/W Photograms, Digital, Archival, Vellum, Laminate 36”x 65” 2010-present

5/34 pictured

A series of 34 photograms that are representative of my work in photographic education.  I continually teach this process as a way to reframe imaging technology away from white, eurocentric modernity.  I emphasize how shadow-area, or negative, creates light, form, and multiplicity.

This work was exhibited in a solo exhibition as a culmination of Seattle University’s and Lee Center for the Arts’ yearlong High-Resolution Media Artists Residency and a second solo exhibition with Holding Contemporary Gallery in Portland, OR.
